About Us

Grand Frame’s longtime location started in 1974 when Gary Grana, then 17 years old opened the store in a 900-square-foot retail space in the downtown area. Not long after, Grand Frame moved to a new location with nearly double the square footage.

An art-student-turned-framer, Gary Grana quickly established the store as one of the metropolitan area’s premier frameshops. In 1982, Grana’s wife, Carrie joined the company, and they purchased a 14,000-square-foot-retail and manufacturing building. Occupying 11,000 square feet of the structure, the Granas proclaimed their store as Chicagoland’s largest picture framer with a full-fledged manufacturing, retail and wholesale framing facility.

By the mid-1980’s the Grana family added locations in the nearby suburbs of Park Ridge and Norridge (both of which they sold in 1992) and expanded their presence in the local business community by becoming local community leaders through the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce.

As the business expanded through the years, Grand Frame established itself as a preeminent framer for not only individual customers, but also corporate clients. Among its notable customers: United Continental Holdings, Coca-Cola, The Daily Herald,  The Chicago White Sox and The Chicago Bears.

The corporate and residential business continues today, along with a bevy of services, primarily in home consultations and picture hanging, elaborate shadowbox framing through it’s patented G-Link product and flat screen television framing.

Four decades later, Grana’s son, Matthew is now at the helm of the family business. Grand Frame continues to operate under the same principles that Gary Grana established in 1974- create a outstanding product, provide great design, and offer competitive pricing.  The  Arlington Heights gallery is open 6 days a week-stop in so you can see how Grand Frame will preserve your artwork for your home or office for a lifetime!
