1974…..
- Gary Grana and his mother Rita start Grand Frame, Inc. in a 900 square foot retail store in downtown Arlington Heights.
- Grana first framer in Chicagoland to establish one week turnaround.
- Grand Frame moves to 1700 square foot retail operation on Dryden Avenue.
- Gary Grana patents the “Decision Maker.” A visual aide system to assist retail customers in selecting framing and matting combinations.
1982….
- Grana’s wife Carrie joins the corporation.
- Grana family purchases 14,000 square foot retail and manufacturing building on Arlington Heights Rd. GF occupies 11,000 square feet becoming Chicagoland’s largest picture framer.
- GF becomes full manufacturing retail and wholesale framing facility.
1986….
- Grand Frame launches Park Ridge and Norridge locations. All manufacturing for all locations at corporate headquarters.
- Grand Frame purchases building north of corporate offices for expansion.
- Gary and Carrie Grana become active in the community with the Rotary Club and Chamber of Commerce. Gary Grana was a founding father of the Central Business District.
- Grand Frame does framing for Chicago Bears star Walter Payton.
1992…
- Grand Frame sells other locations in Park Ridge and Norridge.
- GF assists in framing for new Comiskey Park stadium and several White Sox team members.
- Gary Grana patents “G-Link,” a 3-dimensional shadowboxing system sold throughout the industry.
2000…
- Grand Frame recognized by Village of Arlington Heights as business leader of the year.
- Matthew Grana joins Grand Frame.
- Grand Frame continues to do framing for Chicago Bears players.
- Grana family moves corporate headquarters 2 doors north to 209 S. Arlington Hts. Rd. GF occupies 8,000 square feet of the new facility.
- Matthew Grana introduces new production guidelines, state of the art equipment and a newly designed showroom to Grand Frame.
- Grand Frame purchases property south of current facility for expanded customer parking.
- Grand Frame voted “Best in Picture Framing” by Daily Herald readers.
- Grana family celebrates 35 years in business April 16th, 2009
